So, what is to be done about the Norks? The Japan Times actually has a good article here, arguing that actually, we could try being nice for a change. This is probably the wisest course, in Our Man's humble opinion, as distasteful as that may be. It has to be said, viewed from the distance of London or Washington, the "isolated hermit state" line is all well and good.
