There's liberals and then there's liberals

While Our Man mulls his bid (that's newspaper speak meaning sits on his arse) for public office, he just had to put a quick link in here to an entertaining rant on fuckedgaijin (above) against the LDP - Is Jiminto getting its ass kicked next election - not because of any great political insight, but because the ranter used the logo for the British Liberal Democrats - a far less obnoxious party than the LDP, methinks. Liberal is such a misunderstood term, eh readers?

Hah, I was a paid-up member of that party once. Even had my hand shaken by Mr. Paddy himself. Nice bloke. However I am now totally disenfranchised, the next chance I will get to vote in any sort of election will involve a change of passports, I suspect.

Our Man has a soft spot for them, as his dad was a party worker (though he tended to vote Labour in general elections, as the Lib Dems were "the party of dog sh*t fines and tree planting"). Whisper this, Our Man actually voted for the Lib Dems last time round as a protest against TB and the war.

Well, beat this: of the first, and only election I ever physically participated in in the UK, six of my nine votes went to my parents.

Hee hee, You got me there. Have no clue what you are on about. But Our Man has voted in 4 British General Elections and 1 US Congressional election. One man, two votes, he always says...

3 levels of local government election in the same three-councilperson ward (parish, district and county). Two parents. I'll leave the rest of the calculation up to you.

I've also voted in all the German local / European elections I was entitled to.

You got me Mr Penguin. Our Man could vote in the States being a dual citizen. Amazingly, he voted Republican, but it's a long story...
